  • I am confused by your options. What do these all mean?
    The vast array of option s is essential in order to be able to custom fit as per any requirements. However, these can be rather complicated for anyone not dealing with them day to day.   • What are the payment options?
    We accept credit cards as well as wire transfers.
  • What are your fabrication and delivery times?
    Our slim line are all made to order. Since we have specialized in this type of bespoke luminaire, we can make these rather quickly. Depending on options, from 2-6 weeks. For premium finishes add 2 weeks. Depending on your location, shipping times usually 1-5 business days.
  • What is the IP rating of your lamps?
    Unless otherwise specified, our lamps have an IP20 rating. Should you have other requirements, let us know, as for certain models we can accommodate. Please refer to the diagram below for IP recommendations.
  • How is the approximate yearly savings calculated?
    This calculation is the savings versus using standard incandescent bulbs for the same amount of lumen output. It is calculated for the CRI90+ version, assuming that the lamp will be used 10 hr / day, using the 2021 EU average electricity rate of 0.22 € / kWh. It does not take into account the further savings obtainable by dimming, reduced air conditioning expense (less heat generated by the light source), and the cost of bulb replacement (our LEDs last for 50,000+ hrs vs 1000 hrs).
  • What are the different LED colour options?
    We offer our lamps with 5 different light colour options: 1) Warm white - 3000°K: which gives off a yellower warmer light 2) Warm white - 3000°K: which gives off a yellower warmer light 3) Neutral white - 4000°K: which gives off a whiter more neutral light 4) Cool white - 6500°K: which gives off a blueish cooler light 5) Tuneable white - 2700--6500°K: which can produce any type of white 6) RGB (Red-Green-Blue): which can produce any colour of light (more for ambience) Depending on your application you may prefer one or the other. For home use in living rooms, dining rooms and bedrooms, we recommend warm white. For kitchens, bathrooms, or studies we recommend warm white or neutral white. For office use we recommend the neutral white or cool white. You can even combine several options, as an example: Warm White and RGB.
  • My lamps seems to be very hot. It this normal?
    No, this is not normal for our line of luminaire. While other manufacturer's luminaires, especially those made of steel can get dangerously hot to the touch, our luminaires should not warm more than +8°C above ambient temperature. The most likely problem is that you are using a power supply that is giving off more power than its rating. Our lamps run off of 24V. If your power supply is giving off 26V rather than 24V, than this voltage difference of 2V results in pure heat loss. Replace the power supply immediately. ​ ​
  • When I turn off the lamp, why is there sometimes a delayed reaction?"
    This is completely normal. When fully powered you will not notice this effect; but rather when the lamp is dimmed and then turned off. The power supply has capacitors to be able to provide a stable current, and when turned off, they are being drained through the LEDs. The dimmed LEDs drain the capacitors more slowly. This effect should last no more than a second or two.
  • Can the lamps be installed at an angle?
    Yes. The lamps may be installed horizontally, or they may also be set to an incline of up to 30°. It is also possible to request a 2 point suspension for vertical installation.
  • What kind of dimming options are there?
    There are many dimming options available. Control can be integrated with DALI control systems, Push-Dim, Casambi bluetooth, Smart Home systems, 0-10V, 1-10V, standard remote, and wall dimmers. Depending on your installation, we can make the proper recommendations.
  • What size LED power driver do I need?
    The LED power driver should be at least 10% greater than the load it is supposed to drive. For example if your luminaire is rated at 100W, than you will need a > 110W PSU. Also you do not want to over drive the luminaire with too large a PSU. In this case, the driver would be less efficient, and it would hold too much of a charge when shut off (increasing the delayed reaction as described in delayed reaction)
  • What happens to the LEDs after the 50,000 hours lifetime?"
    As time goes on LEDs will become less efiicient. Using the same power input they will give off less and less light. There is a very small chance that a few LEDs will fail completely. Overheating is the main enemy of LEDs. Our frames are made of aluminium, which ensures proper heat dissipation for the LEDs, maximizing their lifespan. Other manufacturers use steel for the frames; while much cheaper and easier to produce, steel has a thermal conductivity of only about 8% that of aluminium. This in turn results in a much hotter lamp, which will lower the lifespan of the LEDs. With a 50,000 hours lifetime, and using your luminaire 10 hours a day then the effect may start to be visible after 15 years. After this time the light output will still be about 90% (in the case of L90) of its original output. To most people this is not perceptable. If you notice that your luminaire is producing less light at any time, then please contact us for instruction on how to replace your LEDs.
  • Can the LEDs be replaced in Oleant luminaires?
    In order to ensure a longest life, the LEDs are securely mounted on the frame. In certain models the LEDs can be replaced on site. The other models woould require replacement at our factory.
